Even on a rainy day, it seemed a shame that one of the most picturesque lines in North Wales was closed in the 60s. The old line follows the Mawddach estuary very closely and offers spectacular views of the water and mountains. The workmanship of the stone revetments and embankments is testament to the civil engineers of a bygone epoch.
