A Tamla Motown Collection – Part 6

Earl Van Dyke and The Soul Brothers – All For You – TMG 506

This mega-rarity was Tamla Motown’s first instrumental release and, of course, it disappeared almost without trace. I remember being a bit huffy when my copy cost me £7 some 40 years ago. In 2013, a copy sold for £128 on ebay.

The record is a groovy 1965 Hammond organ workout with (uncredited) female vocal “ooooos and aaaaahs”. Maybe  The Vandellas or the Supremes happened to be in the studio and were called upon? I bet someone knows the answer.
